My plans were to not start up this blogging addiction until I had something exciting like babies in the Philippines to talk about... but well... I had a good day today... Got lots of studying done, talked to some special people on the phone and read some encouraging blogs, so I thought why not?!
Today I finished a book titled "Peace Child" by Don Richardson. It is one I had to read for a project I am working on... but also one I'd wanted to read for a long time. You know those books that when you set them down the final time all you can think about is whether or not you will ever see the world the same again? Well this book was that sort for me. You all should read it. It's great. It is all about a cannibalistic, war-torn, stone-age tribe in what is now Irian Jaya that sees the Life of Christ for the first time... What a story! It was very weird and somehow significant for me to know some people and places from the story (like Prairie and the Mills family...). I guess it made it all so real... Reminded me that this same God is at work today!
It really is an incredible thing to experience God at work... And this story excites me! This is the same Holy God that is leading us today! Wow! Big wow! I greatly anticipate what His great hand will do as I walk in obedience.
As Christ makes things new I know my perspective will continue to change... Over these next few months I know much will change at least physically for me that's for sure. The fact that is paramount through all these changes is that though perspective may be altered, the focus shall remain the same. The hope of eternity must be shared. Christ must be proclaimed by my life.
I like this cow. He is very friendly and usually covered in flies. I spent some time with the cows in the field beside my house the other day. They see life differently. I see them differently.
