I truly don't mean to overwhelm the blog with so many new entry's... but life has just been so full of new and exciting activity (aka orientation? I never knew that word could mean so much fun and adventure!)... that... and Monday starts classes and assignments and shifts in the clinic... I am afraid that spare time will be sparce! I do hope to keep all that are interested informed even then... but I promise it won't be as often!
Anyways... back to the tital of this entry... and it's point in general! So yesturday was a day FULL (too full in fact) of Jeepny rides... Oh ya... and a large bunch of other adventure and fun... but the Jeepny definetly got the magority of our time!
So the school planned a big ol' scavenger hunt for all the students that could come that took us all over the city... the final destination being a little beach resort on a little Island off our big Island (sound familiar?) called Paradise! And it truly was lovely!
Here are some pictures from the day. The team I was on consisted of two second year girls who are also some of my housemates. There names are Starla and Allison, and also one of my classmates, Jenna, and myself. We were required do to all sorts of things like carve a pinapple in the traditional fashion at a specific stall in the market... Jenna did a fab job of that...
Other things like finding this halarious little gym call the "Muscule Connection" and do some good ol' bench pressing. The Philippino men really liked that!
The team also was required to chow down an entire Durian... and as you know from earlier, that is not so fun! Luckily we had some help! Didn't stop us from gagging with every bite!
My favorite part of the race was the Kareokke that we had to sing... it is always the best when you have never heard the song before, that's what I figure at least! -Oh ya... and the sweet shirt I am wearing is something we had to buy at this second hand tent along the race... The tents are called something like "Ooki-Ooki" or something! Way cooler than Value Village I'd say!
After several other stops we finally made it to the beach, in last place... but after a really fun morning! So this is paradise, incase you wondered what it looks like! You can see Davao across the bay... quite the place I'd say... and SO cheap to! I'll definently go back! Maybe to study even... :)!

Looks like you're having lots of fun Lolo. I'm so glad you have a group of sisters surrounding you to enjoy in fellowship and encourage in challenge. Seems like the course is nicely balanced out in regards to leisure and school and practical training, you really jump in two feet first. Enjoy.
cheers.
sista, christina
