"Life is a great adventure..."

On Wednesday of last week my class, and whoever else from the clinic who could come, had the opportunity to go to Outland Adventure. Outland it a ropes course that has both high and low elements that uses its facilty to share Christ with the kids in Davao. The director of Mercy Maternity was instrumental in the beginnings of it, and so the clinic still has tight ties with the ministry that goes on there. So for us it was a team building day, and it is also amazing to me how new sides of people you see when they are faced with fears and challenged to push yourself just a little further. It is such a good place to be... pushing yourselves out of your regular comforts, and relying on the truth to uphold you when you are leaping off of ridiculous heights, and walking across a 200 meter wire suspended above the trees!
I was reminded this past summer at Capernwray that when we look at these ridiculous situations in life we have two choices we can make. Either we can embrace the truth, that the ropes can hold us up... for that is what they are designed to do... and have the most amazing, freeing experience in the holds of the truth... or we can choose not to believe that the truth is true, and let our fears dictate our decisions... and miss out on part of a great adventure.

The day was grand... and here are some pics of different things that we did... I think I have like 600 or more pictures from the day though... so unfortunately I am not sharing them all with you, but I hope you enjoy these. It is such a beautiful bit of forest that the course is in, and when we climbed up part of the mountain to do the tight rope we have a lovely view of Davao.

These pics are of the vertical jungle gym, one of the big ol' poles we climbed and jumped off of, and the tight rope... SO FUN!

Hi Lois!
What an experience - looks like so much fun. Great to hear that you're maintaining 'the focus' in and through it all. Take Care.
