This is my gramma and sister Beckie about 25 years ago. My gramma is obviously enjoying her... The same excitement that she had on her face then was the same excitement she wore the day I was visiting my grampa and her this summer, as we talked about what I would be up to here in the Philippines. My mom is going to visit her parents in a few days, and told me that she wanted to find a way to show gramma this blog while she's there. I know she would love it. She loves her grandkids... and the thought of her being able to see pictures of here is quite exciting for me.
So this post is for her... but all of course are welcome.
So these are some pictures of outside of the clinic today. The blue vehicle is called a "Multicab" here, and is our ambulance and all-purpose vehicle. I had to ride in it twice today during shift, taking patients to the hospital. One of the patients was overdue (almost 44 weeks pregnant) and the other had really high blood pressure (around 150/110) and we couldn't do anything to get it to go down.
It is sad to have to transport patients... but some times we just have to. I hope this gives you a picture of the location of the clinic... on a quite road in the heart of the city.
My mom's been begging for a picture of me in scrubs... so this is to appease her begging, and show off the great scrubs that some anonymous angel blessed me with.
The last three pictures are the inside of my house. I live with 9 other girls in this apartment. It's a second story apartment... on a fairly busy road. The kitchen table is usually loaded with books, computers and several studious persons... but tonight it looks relatively bare! Our living room has bamboo furniture... which I think is great... although not quite like snoozing on a Lazy-Boy... And in the kitchen is Sarah W and Starla... we made popcorn tonight... and it was yummers.
I hope you enjoyed the little tour... I'll show more another day.
Oh... and just so you all know... even though there were several transfers on my shift today I did have the great privilege of witnessing one beautiful girl's entrance into the world. Her mom was only 21. I am glad I am only watching births at this point and not giving birth myself! Wow.

Wonderful! I love seeing pics of your little world. Nice scrubs, I remember the day you got the anon note, it was and is such a good reminder of God's care and provision out of seemingly nothing, He makes something and continues to bless us in so many abundant and unique ways.
Blessings
Wow, Lois, it was super to check your blog and see the note for Gramma. She will love it. Just have to find out if the computer in Restholm will let us access your blog. Won't she have fun:) Thanks for the pic of the scrubs! And Dad and I loved seeing your place. Love you tons. Mom
Hi Loiiis, I love the scrubs, I don't think I have ever seen such cool ones before! What you're experiencing out there sounds fascinating - witnessing little lives being born! God bless, Est
dear lois.
i am sorry you had to find out about my trip last weekend through my blog. we should hang out...or at lEASt do some homework together!
i enjoy reading your blogs, they're always so thought-provoking. you're a deep girl!
Lois, oh i miss the bamboo furniture. I miss the smiley beautiful people. I don really miss sweating the moment i step out of the shower, but I miss much of the Philippines. so glad you are there, but the main reason is your servant heart. You are doing such an important job. You get the privilege of seeing new life on a regular basis. God's brand new work, the first few seconds on the outside. God bless you, Lois Hunt. Dave Amendt
