something fishy...

SO . I am now in Tabuk... and frankly this is the life! I don't think boredom will ever really be a problem for me, as I always have a list of a million things I want to do... but I'm telling you, with a midwifery practice like this one, there is actually a chance to get a thing or two done.

The birthing center is all in one little house... birth room, kitchen and two postpartum/prenatal rooms downstairs, and then three bedrooms and a family room upstairs. It's fairly perfect. Patients are few, for the clinic is new, and they come and go throughout prenatal day's (usually Thursday's) and really whenever else they wish to pop by.

Yesterday we went into town, and checked out the market... bought some halo halo... YUM... It is all SO different than Davao... I love the change of pace and scenery!

This morning I went on a walk with an American intern who is here for a few months to get some practical experience. We walked down this fantastic gravel road, completely surrounded by rice fields. The elevation here is quite high, though the land is only slightly roll-y. Mountains surround us on every side... and the peace and beauty of this place is undeniable.

Simplicity is a good thing. I look forward to when there are pt's around who are in labour... but until then I will enjoy the quiet... spend great amounts of time in THE GOOD BOOK and other good books... and well... blog and email from time to time.

The internet here is interesting at best. I think it's all a might bit fishy... only randomly works... in the middle of something it totally shuts down and you loose everything... so well... I'm not making any promises! Will try upload some pics here soon though, and well... check out Jenny's blog too, as she seems to be having better luck than me... at least today!
