An ode to the Philippina

I have just got to say that the Philippina midwives that work at the clinic are astounding! I am so excitded to get to know them more. On our schedule for Wednesday we had an "outing with the Philippina's" and an outing it was! One thing is for sure, they can truly give a good time!
The whole trip was an adventure that we thought might be an hour or two, but ended up lasting a large portion of the day.

First we went to Elsa's farm, and she showed us her pigs, and got a guy to pick us some green coconuts, and we drank the juice and cracked them open to eat the flesh. They got a good laugh at the way us white people partook of it... and some even tryed our methods... all in all it was really tasty! Our next stop was a not so tasty friut stand... they conviced us all into trying Durian... possibly the most smelly and slimy friut out there... I don't think it even justifies the classification, but apparently here it is considered the fruit of the gods?!?! Icky ugh!

They then took us to this halarious statue, and to dinner at this great Philippino place, and we all had this yummers BBQ chicken and rice meal... with a green mango and a raw tuna fish salad... both of which were also super duper. By this time we were stuffed and thought we must be on our way home by now... but alas we were wrong!

Our last stop was Chow King... this halarious fast food joint here. The Philippina's ordered this desert called Halo Halo for us all... and it was quite the exxperience! It consists of icecream, evaporated milk, crushed ice, cooked pinto beans, tapioca, little jelly balls, and several other mysterious items! Not too bad though, considering. I must say that the beans trew me off... but I would eat it again without much hesitation.
What a wonderful but of ladies! Oh man, oh man...
